| Let me tell you the dilemma: I've been a lover of the Z32 since I was a child. The passion got worse with my first car being a 280zt. I'm now 20 years old, working full time and going to school part time. I'm currently living back at home (and going nuts). I drive a 99 Mustang v6 which I pay $240 on monthly. I owe about $5500 on it. I figure I can sell my poonstang for atleast $7500. Profit: $2000 (downpayment on loan.) This is where I'm not sure if I can afford a Z. In no way can I buy an unreliable car. I have too many places to be and my stang has never been bad to me (just rolled over 60k miles). I would like to spend around $350 monthly on a loan payment and I could put probably $2500-3k down initially. I will not be satisfied with a janky 300zx tt that I consitently have to spend lots of money on to repair. So I've been checking out alot of 92-95 twin turbos with around 60-80k miles, priced anywhere between $12500 to $15k ...... Is this going to be possible?....... I'm aware of the raise in insurance, but I feel with having the car in my parents name and already owning a mustang it wont be anything I cant handle. My Insurance is $475 every 6mos, my buddies is the same but he has a SLP Firehawk LS1 (I'm going to switch to his agency). I understand that the Z needs a lot of maintance and T.L.C., but how much is this going to run me with a car that just recently had the 60k maintance done on it? What can I expect? Also, would buying a Z with mods be a bad idea? If I get one I plan to mod it to Stage III-V with 18" wheels. Would it be smarter in my financial situation to go ahead and get one with the mods since Im working with a tight budget? I've always been in love with the z32tt, but If I have to get WRX or a Mustang GT then I will. I just simply wont give in this time until I try hard to get a ttz. Sorry for the rant, just need some good opinions from the lucky owners. Thanks for the help guys.
